A semi-private, 18-hole golf course, the Peacock Gap Country Club in San Rafael was designed by William F. Bell and has been home to many tournaments during its long history of over 50 years. During its lifetime, the course has seen the likes of Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Dean Martin and Kirk Douglas who came to the club during the Marin Invitational Tournament of Stars in the 1960s. The following year, the club was joined by U.S. Open winner Billy Casper as a touring professional.
